Accessibility
Michael wants this site to work for everyone who visits it, including people who use a keyboard, a screen reader, magnification or reduced motion.
Our target
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. The site has been built and tested against those guidelines, but it has not yet had an independent audit, so we do not claim full conformance.
What the site does
- Pages use real headings, landmarks, lists and tables, so a screen reader can move through them.
- Everything works with a keyboard, and focus is always visible. A “Skip to content” link is the first stop on every page.
- Text meets AA contrast. Body text on the plaster background is about 15 to 1.
- If your device asks for reduced motion, the site’s animations are switched off and every page appears in its finished state.
- The film on the homepage has a pause control, and it stops on its own when it is off screen.
- Form fields have visible labels. Errors are written out in text, tied to their field and announced to screen readers.
- Photographs that carry information have text descriptions.
- Pages are designed to reflow on narrow screens and at 200% zoom without sideways scrolling.
Known limitations
- Some photographs of past sales come from listing records at modest resolution and carry a small watermark. Their content is described in text.
- The site links to Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and YouTube. Those services are outside our control and have their own accessibility.
This statement will be updated after an independent review.
